We’re looking for individuals with the skills, passion, and heart to help guide our growth, strengthen our impact, and support our mission to improve life and economic vitality throughout the Morongo Basin.

This is an exciting moment to join our leadership team. Ideal candidates bring experience in areas such as governance, finance, legal work, nonprofit leadership, or community development — and a sincere desire to uplift the communities we serve. Board Members attend monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month, participate in organizational oversight, and represent BWF at community events and partner programs. Additional commitments may include committee meetings, reviewing materials, or supporting special initiatives and BWF events.

In addition to general Board Member roles, we are actively seeking to fill the Board Secretary position — an important leadership role that supports meeting documentation, communication, and smooth board coordination. We also welcome applicants from across the Morongo Basin, with special interest in representation from 29 Palms and Pioneertown, where growing community projects and partnerships make local leadership especially valuable.

BWF provides fiscal sponsorship and backbone support for several Affiliate Programs, including: Miracle League of the Desert, Youth Sports Coalition, Dreams for Kids, Bob Dunn Memorial Scholarship Fund, Mara’s Wish, 29 Palms Music Series Committee, and Ultra4Next. Through fiscal sponsorship, BWF serves as the legal entity that empowers these programs to focus on their missions while we handle administrative, financial, and compliance needs.

Founded in 1996, BWF has supported and championed countless community projects — from the California Welcome Center and Brehm Youth Sports Park, to Sky’s the Limit Observatory, Morongo Basin Haven, and more. Our board members have played a key role in making these achievements possible.
